Who & What?
Kurt (the 'K' in KNWB) was a young man of impeccable character with a strong commitment to his family, friends and making the world a better place. He studied architectural design and construction management with a focus on sustainable building and environmental awareness.
Kurt's family members embrace the opportunities that they are faced with when thinking of ways to remember their son, brother, nephew, and friend. They have decided that one way they would like to remember Kurt is by gathering friends and family to host an annual Cowboy Golf tournament.
Kurt, above all, was committed to helping others. His family will honor him by doing just that with the funds raised each year for the Kurt Brown Memorial Scholarship Fund.
The KNWB Memorial Cowboy Golf Tournament benefits the Kurt Brown Memorial Scholarship fund that was established in memory of our son, brother and dear friend. Funds are distributed to students seeking scholarships to attend one of the 3 schools (Questa College, Butte College and Chico State University) that Kurt attended.
We hope you will join us in celebrating the life of an amazing young man!

Why Cowboy Golf?
Cowboy Golf is a fun backyard game that is set up with two 'ladders' per match and 2 teams. The players each have a set of 'bolas' which are two golf balls attached by about 1 foot of rope. The bolas are tossed at the ladder and scored based on which rung they land on. It's great fun and anyone can play!
Past years Champions have been first-timers!
We chose this event because it was a favorite among Kurt and his friends to play during the summer. They went so far as to create some of their own custom ladders and play in their back yard, and it was always included in lake trips. We all have great memories that include playing Cowboy Golf with Kurt, so it was an easy choice.

The Best PartThis event draws the absolute best that life has to offer. Kurt's friends and family attended the first KNWB CB Golf tournament to celebrate the life of someone whom they all love. This is still very much the focus of our event. We gather, we play, we laugh and we love each other. People are wonderful and generous and kind.
Please consider joining the fun and come on up for an afternoon in Ojai and some *intense* competition. |
